  1. Dear Elaine,
It’s was with a feeling of deep sadness that I read of Barry’s death in the Standards on-line notice. Barry was a man I often remembered in the many years I have spent away from Warrnambool. He was a good bloke who I hope thought well of me. I will never forget Elaine Scutcheon from our school days.love to you & your family.

  4. I have just watched the service for Barry streamed from Guyetts. Wendy, you sure did your dad proud with a wonderful delivery; and the family/friends who put this fitting farewell service together. To Elaine and Barry's family, my condolences. Barry influenced many Lives. When Kris was about ten he brought a live snake to school; Many visits to the Oasis saw my dread of snakes lessen as Barry and Kris educated me. I gifted my very tame sulphur crested cockatoo to the zoo. Many stories have been told about great times with Barry during the past week as people shared their memories. Vale Barry. Glenda Hirth.

  11. Elaine, it is with sorrow we learnt of Barry's passing. Happy memories resurfaced of our time at the Annexe and beyond with Barry as colleague and friend. Memories of Josephine coiled in Barry's lap, then stretching the length of the staffroom table past the transfixed gaze of the staff. At the Pearly Gates we hope he isn't disappointed there are no serpents in Heaven. Perhaps the gardener in Eden can use his services. Rest peacefully Barry.

  13. So sorry for your loss Elaine, Donald loved catching up with Barry on the CB on our trip around Australia all those years ago, Barry was the first person he would try to call up where ever we were and Jessey still talks about the witch that laughed in middle of the night and seeing Emus and playing Yahtzee all night. i was very thankful for the info he gave me regarding keeping my python, and all the animal knowledge he had. we still think of you both often and have nothing but happy memories. Love always Donald Rhonda & Jessey Banks

  18. R.I.P. Barry. Regular visits to your wildlife park when we were growing up are some of our best memories. Watching you milk the snakes was a highlight, and I’m sure that’s where my brothers passion for wildlife was born. Deepest sympathy to your family at this sad time. Treasure every precious memory. 🙏🏼🕷🦎🐍🦅🪱🐊🦜
