A Poem for Pop!
So here we are, what a week it has been, Pop you have left us, but not in our dreams!
We have dreaded this day as the inevitable drew near, we said our goodbyes as we all cried in fear!
You are the creator of a family so large , full of success, ability and most important, love!
You have lived off the land and created a name, feeding hundreds those smoked eels and there’s no other the same!We are all so sad that we can’t be there today to send our goodbyes and celebrate our way!

You were one of a kind.You are and will always be the King of our Family and Mum treated you so.
Growing up was basic but we never went hungry and we were always warm.
We loved your silly ways and silly made up tunes but you loved life.

Condolences to Troy & Jen and Family on the passing of tough ol' Harry. We have only had the pleasure of meeting Harry a few times as we knew our kids were way too loud for him. But the wonderful stories/adventures we have heard makes us feel like we know Harry so well. The regular calls to Hazel, has always kept us up to date and entertained. A funny man! Harry loved his sons and grandchildren very much so to hear he passed peacefully surrounded by them is great to hear. That’s exactly what he would have wanted.
Troy and Jen I’m so proud of you guys in the care you gave him and the dignity you made certain he retained right til the end.
Harry didn’t say much and I could only understand about every second word but he certainly had a dry sense of humour and I’m sure his witty observations will be missed by those who loved him. He was much adored by Aydan, Elijah and Holly and they will all miss him dearly.

Our heartfelt condolences to all of Harry's family.
We can't tell you how much we are going to miss our phone calls with Harry.
Since Harry went to Queensland last July we have heard all about his fishing, Troy's great cooking, how he enjoyed the warmth and how lucky he felt to be with Jen, Troy, Aydan, Elijah and Holly.
Harry had a dry sense of humour and we can still hear him on the phone when we asked him how he was going. His response was always 'going like a bomb'.
We know that in the last few weeks Harry was struggling but he fought to the very end and was stoic in his will to live.
It was an answer to our prayers when we heard Harry had passed peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his loving family.
We will cherish memories of a strong, hardworking man who lived a long life and made it to his 90th birthday.

I met Harry 13 years ago, after someone gave me his number to ask Harry to do some renovations. After a few weeks Harry asked me where I am from. I said to Harry he would not know this small country in Europe. After a few minutes we looked at each other and realised we were born in the same country Latvia and the same city Riga. Since then we become best friends and always talked about Latvia. Many times I asked Harry to come with me to visit Latvia, but unfortunately it never happened. Harry, you brought sunshine and happiness to all those who were lucky enough to have you involved in there lives, you always be in our hearts. RIP Condolence to Troy, Brent and the family. We have long admired your dry sense of humour, honesty and hard work ethic. We will miss our many phone conversations where we solved the problems of the world. We know how much you appreciated your last 8 months in the Queensland sunshine, surrounded by your family, going fishing and eating Troy's fabulous cooking. In the past year we especially admired your determination and courage as you never gave up. When asked, "How are you Harry?" "Going like a bomb!" was the inevitable reply.
Ours prayers were answered when you died peacefully at home surrounded by your family.

Our sincere condolences to Harry's family as they mourn his loss. We live in the same street as Troy and Jenny in Mudjimba and were aware of Harry's brave fight with illness. I was privileged to be able to take Harry to an appointment a few weeks' ago and in that short time as we chatted, I gained the impression of a kind, considerate gentleman who adored his family and was very appreciative of their love and care of him. We had a few laughs and I told Troy later that it was such a pleasure to meet him. Harry will live on in our hearts with our memories of a remarkable man. RIP.

We wish to send our condolences to Harry's family. Harry was one of the three amigos who met every Friday at Wendys in Gateway Plaza for a coffee before Harry left to live with his son in QLD. Now there is only one Amigo left after Trevor Nelson died in March/April 2019. We loved Harry's dry sense of humour and perspective on life.
