Sincere condolences to you for the passing of Sharon. She was my boss, a wonderful leader and a truly caring soul. She was ‘country’ in her heart and this showed in her practice, being honest, caring and kind and wise in her interactions. I was so very lucky to have Sharon as a family member and to work with her for a time also. In her work she was brilliant, empathetic and well respected throughout all different levels of her colleagues. The way her mind could see potential issues and troubleshoot them with grace and humility was an amazing thing to see. Personally as Brett's partner, Thomas and Eliza's Mum, we were so blessed to have her in our family. I could always have a supported conversations about mum hood and life, without judgement as our children grew together into the beautiful people they are now. Sharon embodied everything a social worker should be; respectful, caring and utterly selfless. She had a rare way of making you feel truly heard and utterly important, no matter how busy or complex the world around her was.
Quiet, respectful, yet confident; she led with integrity, kindness and an unwavering belief in others. She never needed to raise her voice to be heard. She was a strong and influencial leader, and led us by light not fight.
She believed in me long before I fully believed in myself. Sharon supported, guided and mentored me every step of the way, always encouraging me to become the social worker she knew I could be. Her absence leaves a profound hole in the lives of so many she touched.
She will always be remembered, deeply respected and dearly missed.
