The Funeral Service for RON will be held at St John’s Presbyterian Church,
entrance via Spence St, or Manifold St, Warrnambool
on FRIDAY (January 9) commencing at 1.00pm.
The cortège will leave at the conclusion of the Service for the Warrnambool cemetery.

My dear friend Patto, you have been a loved and respected long time mate and family friend who will never be forgotten. Time spent with you was always enjoyable and filled with great conversations, with any serious discussions quickly turning to humour and shenanigans anywhere there was a golf course involved. Ron was, above all, a thorough gentleman—steady, decent, and reliable. The kind of man people trusted and admired quietly, because he earned it through actions rather than words.

Michelle and Craig .
Marg and I are very saddened to hear of Ron's passing .
He was a close friend for more than 50 years .
Throughout most of that time there has been an issue between Ken Parker , Noel Greene ,Ron and me as to who was the best golfer . Contests in that regard occurred many many times here and overseas .
That day at Royal Birkdale an Open course in England in 1994 , when Ron had a 78 off the stick certainly gave him the bragging rights for a long time .
His courage in his handling of his health challenges over the last few years has been extraordinary .

I only knew Ron for 10 days, but such was the quality of the man that it felt like id lost a long time friend.
I had the privilege of supporting Ron in his home that I am sure was orchestrated by the Most High God that Ron put his faith in. It must have been why he wasn’t scared of death and showed a genuine interest in my life, remembering my wife and children’s names days after our first introductory chat.
In that short time he shared with me so many epic stories. Family, church, business and sporting achievements. He was humble while recognising he’d had a good crack at life.
I know it wouldn’t be easy to lose such an amazing man, especially if you called him dad, but my prayer is that his family and friends can celebrate more than they mourn the life of a true legend.

Dear Ron, i really admired you for a variety of reasons, together with Roslyn you raised a small but lovely family, were very talented at several sports and you were a person of great Christian faith. We met through your many development projects with your astute eye turning what most would see as a mess, into a quality commercial property or housing estate. My parents Tom & Del Clapp, always spoke very highly of Ron. and Roslyn.
Mum served on the City Council with Ron.
Del and Ron both received a Citizenship Award on the same day in 1988.
