Loved father and father-in-law of Naomi Young, Jacqui and Martin Healy, Rachael and Jeremy Nix.
Loved Grandad of Cameron, Lachlan; Finn, Niamh; Isla, and Kate.
Respected step-father / friend of Vivien, Vanessa, Ashley, Greg and their families.

Family and friends of KENNETH are invited to attend a Service at the Eastern Park Chapel, 271 Raglan Parade, Warrnambool on FRIDAY (February 7) commencing at 2.00pm.
The cortège will leave at the conclusion of the Service for the Warrnambool Cemetery.

Leave a tributeI extend my condolences to Ken's family and friends on his sad passing, which I only recently learned about. I knew Ken outside of football, having worked with him in Perth during the 1980s. He was a kind and generous man, blessed with a razor-sharp wit and a healthy disregard for authority. Rest in peace, Ken.

On watching Ken’s funeral I was amazed that he still had the photo of our miniature debut in allansford. I was the girl he partnered on that occasion Jenny Stevens 10yrs of age and Ken must of been about 8. We were given our partners and I was the envy of all the girls as he was very popular. Rest in peace

RIP to a wonderful former Cats teammate in Ken “Crackers “ Newland - his silky skills and creativity set him apart as did his special sense of humour so needed in the intensity of the VFL back then ! Never forget him pulling a racing form guide from his sock to get the name of the winner of the quadie 1st leg at Waverley Park one day sending players from both team’s into laughter ! We felt so lucky to have a cousin that played footy for the cats,and could go and watch on a Saturday with Mum and Dad at Geelong .Disappointed I can’t make it Friday,but will be watching on and thinking of you 3 girls and your families. RIP Kenny Carolyn (Lambell)

Ken was 12 years my senior. As a junior, I did High Jump. I remember seeing the program for the combined sports (district) which I competed in. One record stood out for me, held by Ken Newland, for all those years. I didn't get close.

A favourite work colleague from the 80's. Always looked forward to catch ups to hear his stories and watch and listen to his impersonations. A gentle soul and champion bloke who lived life to the fullest with great humour.

Ken with memories of Under 14 Football and Under 16 Cricket. You were a champion player of both sports. We who played against you at such young ages were proud of all your achievements. Farewell Ken. Your tough health issues over the last few years are now over.
Fond memories of our friendship from our days in the CBC bank in 1980 in Perth through to your retirement at ICWA in 2014 and beyond.
I will miss our friendship filled with humour, beers, bets, family, footy and cricket.
