Passed away peacefully at Opal Riverside Community Care on May 20, 2026.

Aged 93 years

Loving wife of John (dec.).

Loved and loving mother of Kaye and mother-in-law of Tim Netherway.

Much loved ‘Granny Joy’ of Nichelle, Steven, Jason, Jackie and Simon.

Great grandmother of Kikia, Tirrim, Sheira-Lea, Billy and Great great grandmother of Nyx.

Loved sister of Elva, her partner Ian and aunty of Darryl and family.

May the winds of love blow softly
And whisper for you to hear

Joy was a lovely lady who, at one time, who lived opposite me in Gillin Park. Recently I moved into Opal Riverview, but not kept in touch often. I am so sorry.
My sympathy goes to the family.

A very dear friend of many years. We spent lots of time playing scrabble and chatting. I will miss you so much Joy. My deepest sympathy to Kaye and family.

It was an absolute pleasure to spend time with Joy while visiting my own dear Mum at Opal Riverside Care Community. We spent many afternoons chatting with Joy in the hallway outside their rooms. Her presence will be deeply missed and there is a space at the dining room table now where she once sat next to my Mum. My deepest condolences to Joy’s family. She was a lovely lady.
