Tributes
Leave a tributeI will always remember Barbara as the first person I knew that absorbed other cultures. From learning the language to playing Mahjong or with the many exotic items she had collected from around the world that were in her home. You were always warm and kind to be with, wise and enlightening in your example and you will be missed greatly.

Something is missing… Not in the physical sense but more in the air around me. That something is Barb. Barb was more than just an older sister of 14 years, she was my mentor, an influencer, if you like. Barb rocked me to sleep as a baby, she guided me down the aisle as her flower girl at 3 3/4 yrs old. She discussed the follies of life with me as a teenager. Barb gave me a Margaret Fulton’s cookbook for my 21st followed by a dinner set when I married a year later. We have shared many a cuppa over the years. I miss you Barb. All my love.

I knew Barbara for well over 50 years as Cheryl’s older sister
We sometimes looked after and played with her three kids on the front lawn in Iris Rd
Years latter she baby sat our kids regularly and travelled to us in both China and New York
She was afraid of nothing and wanted to do everything
Even the risky things
She had a firm opinion about everything and not afraid to express it
She was a really modern woman
Well ahead of her timeAugust 14, 2023 1:20 pm
I remember the days when we would travel to Melbourne to spend the weekend with our Nana, the stories she told about her days of travel, or times just myself or my siblings to spend the week with Her, going to the Muesuem, Art Gallery, going to NSW, being in her Company was a Joy and wonder to hear and unstanden what she had to told. I will greatly miss you.
With love

Some of my earliest memories was being babysat by Barbara. Later in life, I would think of our conversations as pearls of wisdom. Whether it be relationship advice or life advice. One time Barbara encouraged me to go to the Birdsville races while I was still young. She thought that I would thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere and shared her story of attending this outback horse race. The casual yet fancy dresses for the ladies and describing the men in a very eloquent way, yet painting a picture of a typical outback Aussie bloke.
