The Funeral Mass for MAUREEN will be offered at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Lava Street, Warrnambool on THURSDAY (October 30) commencing at 11.00am.
Followed by burial at the Warrnambool Cemetery.

Maurs welcomed us into your home as if we were family. We all have such fond memories of sitting around the kitchen table, sipping on bubbles, non stop laughing and of course ' hanging it on Paddy '. Sleep overs at Shirley Grove were simply the best.

Maureen yes I remember her I used to call me speedy Maureen worked as a telegram telephonist when I was a telegram boy back in the early 70s I don't forget nice people. She was always so nice to me... I also know Paddy sorry to hear of your loss mate xx

What a privilege to have grown up next to Maurs.
Growing up beside the Kavanaghs kept you on your toes, but one thing’s for sure, they always knew how to have a good time.
Maurs was the heartbeat of Shirley Grove. She had a laugh that carried down the street, a warmth that made everyone feel welcome, and a way of turning even the most ordinary Sunday into something special.
As a kid, I never quite understood how the Sunday barbecues went on for hours. As an adult, I realised it was all that time for champagne, stories, and “playing ladies.” That was Maurs, she brought people together, made you feel part of something, and always found a reason to celebrate.
Thank you, Maurs, for the hedgehog, the endless laughter, and for showing us how to live life with joy and friendship. Thanks for encouraging me to continually tease Paddy.

Maursie- a true matriarch, generous with her kindness and her wisdom. Endless stories shared with every sip of bubbles.
I was fortunate to be welcome at any social gathering. Family birthdays, Saturday afternoon around the kitchen table or just a quick pop-in, Maursie always made me feel appreciated and cared for. Maybe she loved me a little bit and that's why I love her a lot.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Maureen a dear friend and neighbour to our family for so many years. She was more than just a friend to my late mother — she was like family.
