My beautiful sweetheart, Dorothy, gave up her struggle against cancer last Thursday. We loved each other for the nearly 40 years, that she had been my wonderful partner. I am very grateful for that. She told me that, when she was gone, our spirits would find each other, and always be together. My sad little spirit is looking for it’s ‘sweet little rock and roller’ right now.

Family and friends of DOROTHY are invited to attend a Service at the Eastern Park Chapel, 271 Raglan Parade, Warrnambool on FRIDAY (September 20) commencing at 2.00pm.

We are so sad. We have all lost an amazing friend and confident. Dot was such a humble beautiful person. Always happy joyous and kind, always up for a chat and discussion of current affairs. Dots zest for life was infectious, her sense of humour and sense of fun legendary. Laugh and dance on wherever you are Dot have fun. You will never be forgotten, you were one in a million. John and Dorothy’s family
May the love that Dorothy shared with you be of comfort at this sad time .
Dorothy’s zest for life was infectious to all who met her. From the highlights of sharing political practicalities, rockabilly dancing and music, bike riding and through to caravanning with her beloved John, Dorothy was always someone to share laughter and hospitality, provide a meal or a cool/hot drink (non alcoholic) with friends and many acquaintances met along her life’s journey.
These times we always accompanied by red hot discussions on politics, social issues and justice. This sharing with Dorothy will be sadly missed.
Dorothy will be sorely missed especially at election times, whether our side was winning or losing Dorothy’s positivity for a better life for everyone shone through.
A true believer at rest.

John, Jenni, Juli I'm am so distressed to learn of Dorothy's passing. We Loved Dorothy so much - to know Dorothy was to not only love her back but she helped me to love and accept myself! A real trooper, a fine academic especially in any political or vocal arena and the most all round talented person I have ever known. What a deep loss to all the communities she belonged to and the ones she touched in her travels. She helped to pump up my tyres and I endeavoured to help her feel turbo=charged and Very valued as a true and exceptional friend. Dorothy will continue on in our hearts, Gabrielle, Jacob and his family and my husband Tony Leslie. We will try Really hard to see you John and Jenni at the farewell xo

My heart is breaking with yours John.I've not long been told of Dorothy's passing by another dear friend. What a hole it has left for me, Jacob and Tony alike but ohhh in so many different ways. She was Love, Life, Enthusiastic Supporter, Mentor to Jacob and to me! She was energetic and inspirational supporter of Tony and his late Mum, Win Leslie.With a smile nearly as big as Luna Park. We are away at the moment and I will pull out all stops to give you back one of your best hugs John, on Friday, if I can. Our Mrs G. We will never forget your loud and vibrant laugh. You were the life of the party and always on the go and there was no stopping you. We knew you since 1968 and you never changed only circumstances changed.
