Les was such a great Uncle - heaps of fun, but also gentle and kind. He has gone far too soon, but his place and influence in our lives will continue on. I'll miss our chats out by the bbq every time we visited from Qld.

My father was a little concerned, as fathers are entitled to be, when he asked me what I thought of Helen's new boyfriend. I gave Les the thumbs up.
Decades later he asked if I remembered that conversation and said I got it right.
Les far exceeded what we both would want for Helen.
He left us way too soon.

Les, you were a wonderful uncle and stand-in father to me for my 18th year of growing up. You bought me my first car (Neal) and taught me to reverse using my mirrors. I will dearly miss your humour, affection and generosity. You will always be in my heart.
