The Funeral Mass for CHARLIE will be offered at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Lava Street, Warrnambool on FRIDAY(August 7) commencing at 1.00p.m.

Charlie was generous, kind, gentle, forgiving, a teacher, full of wisdom, but most importantly he was my Pa. He taught me endless lessons, and his guidance will stay with me forever and into my future kids, and hopefully my grandkids. I will forever be grateful for the 20 years I got to share with him in this life, and I’d choose Pa every time if I could.
Thank you for your endless love towards me and everyone else in the family. Words can’t describe how much I’ll miss you. Every time I see you in my dreams, I’ll wake up grateful, even if I only get to have one conversation with you. I’d like to think of it as your way of communicating with me from heaven.
Thank you for being at my milestones and for sharing so many memories with me, including both of my school graduations, my first footy goal, and my 18th birthday, where we got to share our first legal drink together. I’ll miss our Sunday drives while I was still in school, and whenever we’d drive around, you’d tell me the same stories every week and I would just sit there and act like you hadn’t told me before, because I’d give anything to hear your voice one more time.
I’ll miss sitting in the back of your car as a kid, listening to all your CDs. I’ll miss our gold coin footy bets, where even if Richmond would lose, you’d tell me to keep it and not tell Mum. I’ll miss my visits at Bruce Street and having sleep overs as a kid and before I’d even have a chance to sit down I’d be offered a cold drink, some ice cream or Pa’s famous noodles as all us grandkids would know. I’ll miss seeing your face at Christmas, enjoying a beer or Baileys and seeing you talking to all the other old farts around the table.
But the part I’ll miss most of all is simply you, and that’s why losing you hurts so much.Thank you for being everything you were, and for going even further than you had to, especially in the last few years of your life.
I love you Pa, and I’ll miss you forever
