Leave a tributeAugust 22, 2026 We were very sad to learn today, of Phip’s serious illness and of his passing over. A champion gardener even in childhood, Phip truly had the Wilson Scots’ green thumbs! I clearly remember seeing Phip as an 8 year old, peering out of the back of the black Volkswagon, while our mothers talked. He waited a while! My maternal gran Goodall remarked, that “there was a truly patient child. His life will reflect that.” Requiescat in Pace. [Lizzie (Altmann) Moore, via Bendigo]

Members of Warrnambool and District Orchid Society remember Philip as someone who was always willing to share his knowledge and support other enthusiasts. I have wonderful memories of great times with Phil, especially when we were ‘students’ at WIAE, our surfing trips, including to QLD staying at the Kingscliff ‘villa’, which I’m sure you’ll remember as well Marilyn.
