The Funeral Mass for CHRISTINE will be offered at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Lava Street, Warrnambool on TUESDAY (August 8) commencing at 11.00am.     It was so kind of you to ring us in Melbourne and to pass on the very sad news that Christine has passed away. We are very, very sorry to hear that. She was my oldest, and dearest friend. Our friendship went back to primary school days at St Anne’s in Newtown. When we were at primary school, Christine often invited me home for lunch at Waripori Street. I recall the tram was just a half-penny to get there. It was very special to meet her lovely mother and on other occasions her father and brothers. Our parents knew each other from the parish. Those connections run deep. Christine was a dab cook like her mother. She was such a loving and sweet person. It must be a great loss for you, Emma, Mikey, Luca and family. It is lovely to hear that they were all at her bedside when she passed. I am so grateful that in 2023 you and Christine came to Wellington from the Hutt to see me when I was last in NZ. It was so kind of you to make the effort as I was incapacitated by injury at the time. Christine was immensely loyal. I will miss those regular phone calls. I trust that Christine is now at peace in the Lord and reunited with her parents and two brothers, Anthony and David who passed before her, and Matthew.
