*****

I cannot stop the hands of time

Nor live again the past

But I shall love and think of you, my darling Peter

As long as time shall last

No more suffering – you were brave till the end

Until we meet again my love, I’ll ride the waves and do you proud

– Leah

*****

My first best mate and one of my hardest goodbyes

A proud son you have raised – it’s time to wipe my eyes

Your legacy lives on and manifests within me

I just want to say thank you Dad, we’ll catch up soon – you’ll see

– Cameron

*****

This is not a goodbye, but simply a see you later, Dad.

Forever a part of me and forever in my heart.

Love you always, my beautiful Dad.

– Hayley

Tributes

  1. Peter, you inspired me as a student and helped me take my work to the next level. You helped me broaden my horizons of what could be beyond school with your stories of travel and culture, something at the time, I could only dream of. Thankyou so much for your encouragement during my VCE in 1996. Deepest sympathies to the McNeill family,

  3. Even once I’d finished school he was still always Mr McNeill to me. Though he would insist on Peter, old habits are hard to break. A good man who was someone I respected and looked up to during my school years. He was my roll call teacher at the beginning of Year 11 and one time he roared at a kid who was consistently late and pretty rude about it. It was the best thing ever…and that kid was never late again. I always thought Mr McNeill was a kind man, who was wise enough to know when to raise his voice at the right moment to pull kids back in line when they needed it. Cam my thoughts are with you and your family. My donation to MND is only small, but hopefully together with support we can find a cure or prevention.

  6. It is with sadness the Warrnambool Golf Club acknowledge the passing of long term member Peter McNeill. Peter was a member for over 30 years and was a regular Thursday and Saturday competition player. He represented Warrnambool Golf Club in district pennant and was a regular player in intra-club Trade Pennant. Peter was part of a team that won the district Currie Cup and consequently represented Warrnambool at what was known as The Caltex Country Cup.
We extend our warmest sympathies to the McNeill family and friends.

Peter.. a man of many talents; exceptional Educator, talented Photographer, passionate Golfer and Surfer and most importantly a caring husband to my dearest friend Leah and proud father of Cam and Hayley and even prouder Pa of Izzy. I remember our chats about life, travel and your helpful photography tips. MND cruelly took you far too soon. Ride the ocean waves again with no pain. I’ll always be here for Leah and your family.
