Tributes

  1. I very sadly only found out today of the passing of my favourite Uncle ( Uncle Don) and I’m so sad to have missed his funeral. When I was growing up he was always so cool and the best Uncle ever, because he played hide and seek with us on the farm, so loads of places to hide. He always had a sense of fun and cheekiness about him that I loved. When he and Gladys went away for weekends or holidays we always got a gift or sweets or both from them. I always loved them coming to the farm for regular weekends and they would bring Nanny, it was just such a treat to all spend time together.
When I wanted to reconnect with my own immediate family years ago as a young woman, I went to him first as I knew he would love me no matter what and I was right. We didn’t have a lot of contact over the years but he told me to get my holiday booked, then he would marry Sally and the rest is history. I’m so sad he’s now left this earth, but glad he found love and a sense of peace with Sally. RIP Uncle Don, you don’t need to worry about anything anymore. ☘️❤️
My deepest condolences to you too Sally and to Carolyn his daughter who could not make it to the funeral. 🥰

  3. I was deeply saddened to learn of my father’s passing.

Although our relationship had been distant in recent years, he was still my father. He is survived by me, Carolyn his daughter, my husband Steven, and his two grandchildren Reece and Harvey, who live here in Northern Ireland.

Due to only recently receiving this news, we were unable to make the journey to Australia to pay our final respects in person. That has been difficult to come to terms with, particularly for his grandchildren, who would have appreciated the opportunity to acknowledge his life and say goodbye.
Harvey recently received his Christmas and birthday gifts and loved them. It is a small comfort to us to know that this connection reached him, and we are thankful for that.
