  7. Lee Harris & I were close friend since we first met sharing a desk in Baby’s Grade at the Jameson Street State School in 1941. We were Surf Boat State Champions, foot ballers & basket ballers. I shall miss him for the rest of my life. RIP Lee.

  19. The Warrnambool SLSC would like to extend our condolences to Lee’s family and friends with the news of his passing. Lee was a Life Member of the Warrnambool SLSC. He joined the club as a junior in 1951 and obtained his Bronze Medallion in 1952. He won a junior state surf boat title in 1953 and was a member of the senior boat crew of 1961, that also won a state title. Lee also participated in ski events winning some medals at state titles and was a member of our March Past teams throughout the 1950’s and again in the 1980’s, helping the team win a string of gold medals. Lee obtained his instructors and examiners certificate in the 1960’s, judging at many carnivals and assessing bronze examinations. Lee also served as a committee person for several years and was an inaugural member of the ‘Lifesavers’ basketball team and played for many seasons.
    Lee was a dedicated and active member and awarded Life Membership in 1967. The Warrnambool SLSC passes on our sincere gratitude to Lee for his contributions to our club.

  20. In my work as a Police Officer I came across some young people who Lee gave a second chance to via work when others would not employ them. Some of them became worthwhile citizens of our community, a result Lee should be proud of. A very compassionate person.
