June 10, 2020Dear Marion, Jack, Nettie and all of Axel’s Family & Friends,
From when our families first met at Karate, Axel was always kind, inclusive and wanting to help. He always had time to talk, and time to help, with patience and his big heart. THANKS AXEL. Thanks for encouraging me when I returned to cycling after 25 years! The ‘gathering momentum downhill’ joke was always funny. I will miss you. My deepest condolences.
Axel was special in many ways, not only was he a giver and a sharer, he way kind, measured and the eternal optomist. In more recent years we did not see each other that much, but when we did re-connect, we just picked up where we had left off. As migrants to Australia we shared a common mindset. Dear Axel, my friend and confidant your uniqness will be truely missed. Our Iove and prayers go out to Marion, Jack, Netti, family and friends.
June 10, 2020The beautiful memories will always remain. Axel was a special guy!

Dear Marion,
Dear Jack,
Dear Nettie,
Hereby our sincere condolences on the death of axel.
Although we didn’t see Axel that much in recent years, he was often in our mind and conversations. We remember him as a fine friend and good husband and father.
Each year we were looking forward to his “new year letter”. A letter in “his own style” with news from down under.
It’s sad that he’s leaving us so young. The many good memories of him make his loss a little bit more bearable. Even though we’re going to miss him.
For all of you very much strength in the next days and months !

Axel was one of my first friends when I came to Warrnambool 5 years ago and our love for bike riding took us on many adventures around the local area and as far as South Australia! We shared in many good conversations, coffees, meals and support of local causes together. My friendship with Axel always forced me to look at myself and I am grateful for that. I will deeply miss Axel and my thoughts are with Marion, Jack and his extended family.

“Saying goodbye is difficult,
knowing that words are not enough.
Each of us could write our own story
about what you were and will be for us.
Words are not enough
to describe the person you were.
We lived with you, we appreciated you
who you were.
We will miss you, dear friend ”
Our sincere condolences with the loss of your loved one.

Our sincerest condolences to Marion, Jack and his beloved ones. We haven’t seen Axel for more than 20 years but got in contact again 3 years ago, unfortunately we never made it up to Warrnambool which we regret.
We found some nice pictures from Axel during our colleague time in Belgium, ready to share. Kind regards from Singapore, Danny and Fried’l.
We knew Axel for many years, from his time teaching IT at SW TAFE to his recent role with Brophy. We will remember him with great fondness as a man of curiosity and intelligence, who could turn his hand to make, fix or grow nearly anything; kindness – he would stop to help anyone in need and a quick and quirky sense of humour that always made you smile. RIP Axel, we will miss you. Our deepest sympathies to Marion, Jack and Nettie.
June 5, 2020It’s been a pleasure to have known you all these years Axel, going to miss out “catch ups” when ever work duties were called upon, always had time for a coffee and a mint! Condolences to Marion, Jack and Axel’s family.
June 4, 2020Axel made a great contribution to Brophy and he will be very much missed around the place. Not just because of his IT support but also his great sense of humour and wit. Sometimes you were never sure what would come out next, like at the Movember fund raiser several years ago, but that helped make him more special for me. Terrific memories and will be sadly missed. All the best to Marion and his family.
June 3, 2020To Dear Axel’s family I wanted to express my deep condolence to you. I worked with Axl and se had many conversations on the state of homelessness and how we could help the clients of Brophy. Axel clearly cared a great deal and expressed this in the ideas he had for reform. I will miss his humour, his compassion and his friendship. Best to Marion, Jack and all his family.
June 3, 2020You will be missed on the Wangoon circuit. A kind and gentle soul.
June 3, 2020It is with great sadness to think I will not see Axel out riding. We have shared many great yarns both on the bike and at his house. A gentle caring man always ready to help new riders and support our fundraising efforts. Sadly missed and thoughts go out to his family Maion and many friends.
June 2, 2020Axel was a unique individual who will be missed for his tireless efforts to contribute to the community through fundraising and bike riding for charitable causes. I will fondly remember him for his IT support/help & wicked sense of humour whilst I worked at Brophy.
Deepest condolences to Marion, Jack & their extended families at this sad time.
