  5. In loving memory of my dear aunt:
    Doreen Allison Divall (née Harper)
    08.03.1929-12.08.2023

    A LETTER TO MY AUNT
    Dear Aunty Doreen,
    I remember you extremely dearly,
On my visits through school holidays,
To your home on old ‘Suitcase’s’ dairy,
    At Panmure down Warrnambool way.

Where you would always awaken early –
Well before the sunrise I would say,
To prepare breakfast for Uncle Gerry,
And start the tasks of your busy day.

And I remember ever so clearly,
Trips to the lighthouse and Lady Bay.
And farm days with Garry, Bruce and Kerry,
And always wishing that I could stay.

But salad days pass by far too quickly,
For there are greater forces at play.
    Leaving only my chreished memory,
Of my special aunt who slipped away.

    Your loving niece
