Tributes

  1. A wonderful parent and supporter of the teachers at Warrnambool East .
Primary School. On a family trip to Japan, Roslyn sang a song about a child who died at Hiroshima that I’d taught the children in my class, as well as making origami paper planes that Singapore Airlines flew to Hiroshima free of charge. John and Helen brought me back a wonderful key ring peace bell from the Peace Park in appreciation. For twenty years or more it tinkled on my keyring of each care I owned. It is worn through and the wee gong is lost. One day I hope to obtain another..

  17. John gave me my first job in warrnambool and has remained a friend and supporter over the 43 years I have known him. His passion for organising people combined with his boundless energy and community spirit did not diminish over time. His contributions will be remembered: WIAE, Deakin University, Ham radio club, Rotary, SWH board, Triton woodworkers, neighbourhood watch.. to name few. He lived a full life and my lasting memory will be his care for people and unabated interest in all things (especially technology).
