Aged 91 years

Passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Dearly loved and devoted husband of Pat.

Cherished father of Anne-Maree, Sharon and Lynn.

Respected father-in-law of Ian and Rebel, and friend of Adam, Vlado and Steve.

Adored Pa of Marli, Sienna, Tanna, Ahliya, Jordan, Jarra, Charlotte and Audrey.

Tributes

Jack’s old photo album is filled with pictures of Ron and Doug – of happy times spent on the Warrnambool beach and up at Pearl’s place when dad’s younger brother, Pat, would visit from Melbourne. After growing up in Flemington, and spending time working with the railways at Ballarat and Hamilton, that early friendship with the Blackney boys helped make Warrnambool his ‘home for life’. Ron was a good man with strong principles. He served his community to a high standard. His family was all important to him in everything he did. Through his surf life saving involvement he was a role model to so many young people. The high standards that Ron Blackney espoused will be ever with the movement he loved and served.
