Much loved and cherished husband of Maureen.

Loved father and father-in-law of Sarah, Jayne and Chris, John and Katie, David, Richard and Felicity.

Much loved Pa of Jack, Charli, Rhiley, Baylie and Abel.

Loved brother to Susan and Geoff, Joseph and Barbara and families in England.

The Funeral Mass for STEPHEN will be offered at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Hamilton Street, Timboon on MONDAY (September 1) commencing at 11.00am.

The cortège will leave the Church at the conclusion of Funeral Mass for the Nirranda Cemetery.

Dear Maureen & family.
A very special man has now passed. We will miss our annual catch ups when you would visit in Darwin.
Steve had this way of making everyone feel like family. He helped us & our family, when we were struggling to find the way to navigate some tricky situations.
He always checked in to see how we were all going.
We loved his cheeky sense of humour & laughed at his many tales of misadventure.
Steve, our friend, may you rest in peace.
You will be sorely missed.
To his family, hug each other tight & look out for each other.

Deepest sympathy to Maureen and family on the passing of Ste.
Ste was a character, I have great memories from when I was growing up, shooting, camping, fishing.
Ste was very intelligent and worldly wise, he knew lot’s of quotations. He taught me a lot, being 10 years older.
I loved my big brother and will always miss him. God Bless Ste. XX

Ah Fave Unc, I miss you already. Your humour, your mischievousness, your wit, your tendency towards piracy, your many and varied interests, your stories, your drive, never one to pass an opportunity, or to be one up instead of one down.

The little things that made you fun to be around - random little songs, your own non PC take on the "Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep" song, or a light verse noting a bout of corporeal exuberance to the casual observer.

Thank you for all of the lessons that you've taught, to me and others. A man of simple tastes ("only the best"), you denied yourself nothing, no apologies, no regrets. You lived a great life full of adventure. You skidded in broadside in a cloud of smoke. You loved your family to bits.

I'd like to think of you now, chatting with St Peter, goading him to show you his moves to "Shook me all night long", and handing him a glass of splash. Or if you went in a another direction, endless re-runs of Lonesome Dove and Sharpe administered in a high temperature environment might be damnation for some - but you'll be doing alright. To paraphrase Gus McRae "what's good for you may not be good for the weak minded".

Anyway, wherever you are, may your glass be always cold and full, your chainsaw always be sharp, and your tobacco pouch full of Champion Ruby. Catch you on the flip side bro.

Cousin Ste was one of a kind and will be missed. He was a real character with a great sense of humour. I will cherish the memories of all the visits to the UK, and my trips to Australia, fishing for yabbies and crays, and spotting the local wildlife, I’ll always think of Ste as my ‘Crocodile Dundee’!

Ste was a treasured Nephew to his Auntie Maureen, fond & fun memories going all the way back to early days in Gornal & then visits to us in Salisbury with the Family.
Cousin Melissa can still recall vividly waving Ste off at Southampton Docks on his first trip out to Australia!
Many great memories of Ste will be treasured by us all.

No words can express the loss of one so special as Steve. Together we grew up from boy to manhood, sharing many similar interests such as music and shooting. We would spend many hours together playing guitars trying to emulate the Beatles sound. Our efforts were recorded on Steve’s Grundid reel to reel recorder.
We also spent many holidays together to Blackpool, Minehead, and London, as well as camping trips to Wales.
To Maureen and the family, my heart and thoughts go out to you today, in the knowledge that Steve is at last without pain and now in Gods presence.

No words can express the loss of a loved one, especially one as special as Steve , whom l have always considered to be a third brother.
We grew up together from early infant school years and finally into adulthood, resulting in lovely families for both of us.
Steve and l shared many happy holidays together to such places as Blackpool, and Minehead, as well as camping in Wales and shooting trips around local farms. We both shared a love for music, especially the Beatles, and we would spend many hours playing our guitars trying to emulate their particular sound, and recording many of their tracks on Steve’s Grundig reel to reel recorder.

To Maureen and the mob, using Ste’s expression, you will have lovely memories to keep you all going, as I also have.
Rest in peace dear friend, you will be sorely missed, good night and God Bless dear buddy, from Barry and family, including brothers Graham and John. xxx
