It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Gary. A devoted husband, beloved father, cherished grandfather and proud union member.
Gary was a loving husband to Carol.
A dedicated father to Narelle and Jason, Scott and Fiona, and Kara and a proud ‘Gus’ to Jack, Ollie, Lucy, Zorran, Tess, Arlie and Rocco.
His unwavering commitment to his family was matched only by his dedication to his union brothers and sisters.
He will be remembered for his strength, kindness, sense of humour and the deep love he showed to all who knew him.

Family and friends of GARY are invited to attend a Service at the Eastern Park Chapel, 271 Raglan Parade, Warrnambool on TUESDAY (June 24) commencing at 2.00pm.
The cortège will leave at the conclusion of the Service for the Tooram Memorial Park Cemetery.

Working families everywhere have lost a real advocate with Gary's passing.
His efforts over decades supporting the Labor and worker's causes is acknowledged and appreciated.
Whether it was worker's rights, nature conservation, Indigenous rights and advancement, promoting educational opportunities, Gary lobbied all levels of government at every opportunity.
He was a fearless and consistent advocate and we shall miss home dearly.Vale Gary.

Gary was a man who stuck to his principles and beliefs no matter what, and despite the sometimes adverse deals that his life brought to him. Our heartfelt condolences to Carol and Kara, from Helen and Doug.

My sincere condolences to Carol, and the Lucas family on the loss of you dear husband & dad. Gus gave so much of himself for the betterment of others in their struggles for a better workplace. We had some wonderful times together at The Standard office and were all the better for Gary representing our interests. The Wayzgoose will be one less in number now.
