Joan was one of my favourite people. I am endlessly thankful that I got the honour to meet her and become companions. She will always be the most eloquent woman I’ve met.
I’m glad that she is now back with the love of her life. I will miss you xJuly 16, 2024 7:35 am

I have very fond memories of working with Joan (Mrs Slorach) at Stephen’s stores in the 1970’s. Tall, elegant, impeccably dressed, with a beautiful personality to match her exquisite appearance. It was such a pleasure to work with her and watch her kind heartedness with customers including one dear old customer who insisted on hoisting up her long skirt in the middle of the store so Joan could examine the ulcer on her leg. Such was Joan’s kindness and poise, that weekly visits ensued where the customer sought Joan out, to give her the latest update on her ulcer. Chance meetings I had with Joan over the years that followed, always left me in awe. It was such a pleasure to know her. Diane Lucas
