Mary, What a privilege it has been to call you my godmother. Growing up you were my second mum. I have great memories of your amazing sponge cakes and the home made custard you made for me. I loved my sleepovers at your place even if I was petrified of the cocky. I was honoured to have your at my wedding on Bathurst Island and Ian and I look at back on the photos with fondness. I wish I could be present to say goodbye in person but I am working remote in the Torres Strait and won’t make it in time. Richard, Marie, Peter and Suzanne, my thoughts are with you as your farewell beautiful mum. XX
