Tributes
Leave a tributeWith sincere condolences to Bruce’s family and friends.
I have only just seen his passing away notice, as I searched for him to ask for his medical aid for my daughter, who was delivered into the world by him 33 years ago. A search for his wisdom.
I came to know him through strange circumstances and was delighted by his gentle manner and kindness. What a privilege.
My fondest memory is sitting in a Nusing chair at the hospital holding my new baby, when wearing his uniform Bruce strolled into the sunlight nursery, said hello and took a seat next to me as we quietly looked at the view. He enquired after a while about us and left. That peaceful moment was magical.
Such sadness to know the world has lost this beautiful human.
I look forward to meeting him on my return home to God’s care.

Bruce and I only knew each other for a few years in Port Fairy, but we developed a firm friendship over shared interests which included military experiences, splitting firewood and Wednesday get togethers. I will miss his positivity, his decency and those bright eyes of his. Sincere condolences to Marj and the family. Paul and Lynne Williams, Rosebrook

I was privileged to work with Bruce for an extended period of his professional career. He was a person of impeccable integrity, dedication and aspiration to skills advancement and the well being of others. A man of deep thought and action.
Underneath this rare resilient and disciplined character was a person most generous of heart and most loving towards his family.
Bruce, may you rest in peace after a life lived to the full and for the enduring legacy left to those around you.

Bruce was a highly regarded medical administrator and leader but more than that he was a wise counsellor and steadfast support to his colleagues. I am forever grateful for the sage advice he gave me when I was a new Director of Medical Services many years ago, and for his friendship over two decades since.
I also note his many years of faithful service to the nation onshore and overseas as a Medical Officer in the Australian Army.
Victoria's Chief Medical Officers and Directors of Medical Services have lost a dear friend.

Bruce was always a calm, considerate and caring friend and colleague. We shared a common undergraduate and specialist career, attended conferences and travels together. He was an excellent obstetrician and gynaecologist and in his later career, an equally good medical administrator. Sadly he left us just a few months short of the 55th reunion of our graduation. Our thoughts and sympathies to Marj and the Warton Family. John and Jan Campbell
