  3. James. What a terrific bloke and an even more terrific gentleman; kind, calm, quick witted. Always a sure bet for a laugh and just as reliable for little gems of wisdom. I’ll always fondly remember camping up on the Murray with many golden memories. Sorry I couldn’t make it on Monday, but my thoughts are with the Tanners and extended family. Here’s to a remarkable man.

We have cherished memories of Uncle James’s jokes, playing cards, rides to the dairy and sitting in the trough while he and Merryl milked. Jame’s followed the progress of our lives with heartfelt interest and supported us through the years. A rock to the family when his sister (our mum) passed, he never stopped looking out for us.

  16. One of my favorite childhood memories was getting to go down to the farm on holidays and getting to ride on the back of the motorbike with Uncle James whilst we headed down to “help” with the cows. As a city kid, this was so exciting for us and we would tell all our friends of our farm adventures when we went back home. Uncle James had a big heart and always made sure we involved no matter how busy he was.
We will miss him dearly. All our love to Aunty Merryl and all the family.

  20. What a privilege it has been to have shared a true friendship with James for so long. He was one of those rare people who could see the positive in everything and everyone. I’m sure that if his house had burned down, his first comment would be: “Well that’s finally taken care of the termite problem!”
His faith and his family were a real credit to him.
Our heartfelt condolences to Merryl and his family.
