I had the privilege of meeting Naomi when she was 5 years old, and our last time together was in the summer of this year,at the market in Port Fairy. Naomi grabbed my hand and off we went! – into the wonders and joy of the market, chatting together non-stop, skipping in time, and both beaming – Naomi leading us into wonderful adventures… With Naomi, It was always so much fun, in the moment, full of colour and surprise, and bathed in sheer love. And real, and true.
Naomi, I cannot express to you how sad I am, and how much I am going to miss you.
You changed me for the better, and I am sure that this is true for every person who was blessed to meet you. In Christ it is always win-win. We either win in the short term or we win in the long term, sometimes both. There is no losing in Jesus, He never loses; we just have a skewed perspective here in this realm that sometimes blocks the win-win perspective. Jesus has already won the victory and Anna, Andrew, James, Levi and Naomi are all victors in Christ. The pain is really, really rough at times both physically and emotionally, but it isn’t a loss or defeat. The enemy is the loser and we are the winners, all the time and every time.

There are occasions where,
dumbfounded and confounded, completely at a loss.
All we can do is sit and stare,
into a void that reaches so far from us, to, it seems,
never ending, to Infinity.
With the question that hangs before our eyes,
the words dance before our eyes: “Why me? Why now? Why her?”
There’s never been a doubt as to
just where you stood regarding all those travesties
of injustice that fill
the every day;
And we wonder why bad things would seem to happen to those,
who simply try to ‘do good’ and ‘be good’?
And where in this, is there God? A God of Love?
who watches suffering? Is that His intention?
Whatever happened to Divine Intervention?
And If He’s “out there”……somewhere? Can you feel it? Closer through the burning pain, and hollow ache, than ever before; feel all-embracing arms, as warm, loving warmth remains, true understanding of the tearful pain and more.
I can feel it in the shadow of the dark impenetrable night. You see? I begin to understand. Sweet Naomi has gone home! Home to infinite peace and love, the last tear wiped away. Home to her heavenly Father, and heavenly brother; who suffered on the cross, for us. And so where do my tears and heartache lead? For Naomi will be waiting, having prepared for that sacred moment; when we, too, cross time and space, breathed our last, and join her, there, in that Heavenly place.
Together we will all celebrate. Father, Son, Christian Family having all walked through those Heavenly Gates and greeted by Saint Peter’s welcoming smile. Once more together, this time for ever, Amen.
