Varghese V Varghese June 7, 2022 As I watch the service online in Hiroshima, Japan, I feel very sad to see Michelle go. Michelle was one of my students as well as my friend who helped me start a new life in Warrnambool. We cooked sukiyaki together and she taught me how to make a pavlova. I went to see her in Miura. We lived at Queen’s College. I helped her with Japanese, while she helped me with English. All the memories remind me of how much she loved Japanese culture and language. I would have loved to work with her between our schools in Australia and Japan.

Julia Smith June 6, 2022 Throughout my adolescent years, I don’t think there was a person who had a bigger impact on me than Michelle. Growing up, I often felt isolated – particularly at high school. Miss Joseph was the first teacher I had to really understand me and my dreams/ambitions in life. Not only was she an excellent teacher, she was a good friend and constant support – even after I completed schooling at Emmanuel.
Although I may not have been a big part of her life, she was a formative part of mine, and the person I am today is partially due to her mentorship. I’ll be forever grateful and indebted to her.
Sending love to George, Noah, Xavier, Agnes and the rest of her family.

Michelle helped me find the direction I wanted to take my life in. To follow in her footsteps. Michelle poured her all into her work and always managed to get to the heart of things. I looked up to her as a smart, sincere, strong-willed and passionate individual who would stop at nothing to see her students grow. Michelle is responsible for some of my fondest memories.
I owe so much to you Michelle, you will be missed dearly by your students. I only hope to make you proud.
Indiana Sharrock June 5, 2022 The untimely demise of Michelle was very shocking even if I don’t know her personally. It was her mother in law Mrs.Thresimma Joseph,my cousin sister used to talk about Michelle as an ideal daughter in law who uphold Christian values and principles in her life.Being an Australian she could well acquainted with Indian culture and traditions. She could articulate herself with Padinjaracklam family in a short span of time after marriage with Togi(George)
For me it looks as if a beautiful bird flew down to a nest, laid two eggs ,hatched two handsome baby birds and flew away to infinity.
