  7. My father was a little concerned, as fathers are entitled to be, when he asked me what I thought of Helen’s new boyfriend. I gave Les the thumbs up.
    Decades later he asked if I remembered that conversation and said I got it right.
    Les far exceeded what we both would want for Helen.
    He left us way too soon.

  8. Les, you were a wonderful uncle and stand-in father to me for my 18th year of growing up. You bought me my first car (Neal) and taught me to reverse using my mirrors. I will dearly miss your humour, affection and generosity. You will always be in my heart.
